Easy Peasy Christmas Potpourri

Another edition of "look what I found on Pinterest!" We are coming down off a long weekend of celebrations (more on that later), a mass invasion of our home by both of our families, and kids who stayed up way too late the past three days and were spoiled like crazy by the grandparents. A lovely weekend indeed, but I'd be lying if I said that Will and I didn't breathe a huge sigh of relief this morning. We needed a slight break from the festivities, and I needed a chance to get my house back in order. After a crazy day with less-than-ideal naps and a VERY stinky toddler diaper, I desperately needed a holiday pick me up that didn't include a bazillion calories. I did a quick Pinterest search, and found this. Amazingly enough, I had all of the ingredients in my house, and it took all of five minutes to throw together. My house smells amazing...and as cliche as this may sound, it's almost like I'm back at my parents' log cabin in northern Wisconsin during the holidays. Good 'ole Christmas nostalgia in a pot. Who wouldn't love that??

You will need:
One pot, filled halfway with water
A handful of whole cloves
1/2 cup cranberries
1 orange, sliced
1/8 tsp nutmeg

Stick the cloves into the orange slices. Add everything to the pot of water, and turn on the lowest setting on the stovetop. Your home will smell like magic in no time.

  1. Yes, I also had a lot of things found in pinterest as well and it's really great sharing and getting new things just like Christmas. Have a happy holiday.
