7 Quick Takes-Friday Edition

--- 1 ---

My back is still killing me. The pills haven't been helping, and even though I had a glorious hour-long prenatal massage yesterday I'm still in a lot of pain. Next attempt-physical therapy appointment on Monday. If that doesn't work...yeah I got nothing.

Tony had his hearing and speech evaluation on Monday. The good news is that his hearing is just fine (as we suspected). Everything besides his lack of vocabulary is perfectly normal, if not somewhat advanced. The speech therapists recommended an early intervention in speech for Tony at the Scottish Rite center in Shreveport. If he just needs a little jump start, then great. We can pull him out after a few weeks if his vocabulary vastly improves. If he's still having trouble, well, at least we got him in an intervention program at a young age

I was disappointed with the debate. I think Obama could have done much better. As I said in a text message to my mom, "Romney can pry Big Bird from my cold, dead hands." Cut funding for PBS? I don't think so, dude. There are many things about Romney's policies that I disagree with, but seeing as how I have a toddler who has developed a fascination with Sesame Street, that particular point seemed the most blog-appropriate. For today, anyway.

Tony has also taken a liking to my cookbooks. Maybe I have a little chef in training!

--- 5 ---

I was looking through my old Facebook photos yesterday, and found a bunch of pictures from O'Reilly's in Frankfurt with my friends. Those Friday nights with cider and karaoke may be long gone, but man they were fun.

--- 6 ---

Murphy O'Dwyer (our dog, for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting him) has oatmeal on his back. Don't ask me why

I'm always looking for good books to read. The last non-pregnancy or child-rearing related book I read was The Memory Keeper's Daughter. It was just so-so, in my humble English major opinion. If you have any suggestions, by all means leave me a comment. I need to put my library card to good use

  2. Hi Auntie!! :) Thanks! I've been pretty bad about posting lately, but I'm trying to get back into the habit of posting at least once a week (hence the "7 Quick Takes" concept). Last night we had taco salad for dinner, and I will hopefully be posting the recipe today or tomorrow. Miss you!
    love,
    Marisa
